'We only tried to extract apology from Rajasekhar'

GUNTUR: ''Our intention was not to attack film actor Rajasekhar but only to elicit an apology from him for his comments on mega star Chiranjeevi,'' Chiranjivi Fans Association district vice-president Bandreddi Chandu has said.About 50 Chiranjeevi fans barged into Narsapur Express at midnight on Sunday night and slammed the door of the coupe in which Rajasekhara Reddy and his family were travelling from Bhimavaram to Hyderabad asking him to come out.When there was no response from inside and the train started moving the fans alighted from the train raising slogans against Rajasekhar.Chiru Yuvatha vice-president Sunkara Satish, who was instrumental in arranging a meeting between the fans and Chiranjivi's brother Nagababu recently, said that Chiranjivi had always advised them to participate in service programmes and eschew violence.But Rajasekhar's statement hurt the sentiments of the fans, he explained.
