Something about Swagatham
One macho hero and two pretty leading ladies - the formula seems perfect for a commercial potboiler in Tollywood. And though young director Dasaradh's next film has Jagpathi Babu as the leading man, opposite Bhumika, Anushka, this is no tickling pulp story, he insists. "When there is one hero and two heroines, it doesn't mean that it's all about physical attraction. There can be divine relationships between people, and my film is about that," says the director who shot into fame with Santhosham in which Nagarjuna played the lead.
Interestingly, in Dasaradh's new film titled Swagatham you won't get to see a villain or a red, hot item number. "A villain is too far-fetched, this film does not have even a single character with mild grey tones," says Dasaradh who doesn't want to reveal the details of his story or plot. The film was excessively shot in the US. "This is a feel good entertainer with heavy doses of comedy. A whole lot of comedians are ready to tickle the ribs," says Dasarath. The film will be released on January 23.
Dasaradh, an M Com, LLB, is clear-headed. Films are not just a way to earn fame and big bucks for him. "It is my passion. Money, of course, is important," says the unassuming director. Actress Bhumika is all gung-ho about her role in the movie. "I play a cute, bubbly, funny girl, full of life, who transforms into a woman. It is a very nice role and I'm looking forward to the release of the movie. I'll be coming to Hyderabad to watch the film," says Bhumika, who is taking a short vacation at her home in Mumbai. Anasuya, in which Bhumika plays the role of a journalist, is running in packed houses across the state.
