CHENNAI: Films with friendship as the central theme are not new to actor Rajinikanth. From 'Annamalai' to 'Thalapathi,' many of his earlier hits have highlighted friendship in interesting ways.
Now, the actor will do one more for his mentor K.Balachander's production company Kavithalaya. The film, tentatively titled, 'Kuchelan,' is to be produced by Kavithalaya and Sevan Arts in Tamil and in Telugu by Awani Dutt of Vyjanthi Movies.
The story is based on the Malayalam hit 'Katha Paryumbol.' It is the story of a friendship between a Superstar and a barber, played by actors Mamooty and Srinivasan respectively. In Tamil, the Super Star's role would be played by Rajinikanth and barber's role by actor Pasupathi. Director P.Vasu who did te remake of 'Manichirathazu' as 'Chandramukhi' will direct the film.
