Kajal has consolidated her place in Tollywood with Pourudu. Even though the film was a low budget one, it became a box office hit.

At the film's platinum disc function organised in the city, the visibly excited actress said, "Right from the beginning, I was confident that the film will be a hit. The strength of the film is its script. I am lucky to be associated with big names like Teja and Krishnavamsi, who were my directors.

The experience of having worked with them helped me a lot in working with Raj Aditya, who made his debut as director with Pourudu. While Teja is stern and serious in his profession, Krishnavamsi is calm and cordial. However, both are perfectionists. They are my gurus. Henceforth, I will be careful in choosing my roles," she said.
